Materials: old t-shirt, used denim, thread, and embroidery floss
My piece is a T-shirt based look that I recycled from an XXL shirt. I’m very small so it was challenging. I used hemming techniques that I learned in the course to cut and crop it the correct way. I also found old denim scraps so I distressed the edges a tiny bit and then began to embroider them. On it I put a flower, a bee, and a hive. I choose this design because I always like the message that flowers send that beauty comes through growth, if we cut ourselves short, we will never be the best that we can be. That’s what I strived to get out of this course, being the best that I can, which is why I chose to but that embroidered symbol on my recycled piece.
