EMILY LOLLI

“Maryland Pride Pants”

Materials: old denim jeans, bleach, embroidery floss + needle
The inspiration behind this piece was “gamedays” at Maryland. Many girls have cute, fun clothes to wear to football and basketball games, but these pieces tend to be very expensive. Therefore, I wanted to create something custom and completely unique at a low price. I used the bleach-dye technique, where I drew stars with a paintbrush. I also cute/distressed the bottom of the jeans. Lastly, I used a simple back stitch to embroider around the stars. This helped to define them and reinforce the Maryland theme.
